The SOS All-In-One 2 tries to be Bay Alarm Medical’s do-everything device — GPS, fall detection, two-way speaker, and an extra help button, all in one package. We wore it around for a full week to see whether cramming all those features into one unit actually works in practice or just sounds good on the product page.
Spoiler: it mostly works. The response times matched Bay Alarm Medical’s other devices at 16 seconds, the GPS nailed our location every time, and the 60-hour battery meant we only had to charge it every few days. But the device itself is bulkier than we’d like, and the two-button setup confused a couple of our testers at first. Sarah ended up preferring the SOS Micro for daily wear, which tells you something.

Testing the SOS All-In-One 2
Setup
The SOS All-In-One 2 arrived pre-loaded with a SIM card and took less than 10 minutes to set up. Placing it in the charging cradle powered it on automatically. Once charged, the first test call confirmed the system was active and ready.
The package included: 1 main unit, 1 lanyard, 1 charging cradle, 1 belt clip, 1 external help button, 1 wristband for the button, and 1 pendant for the button.
Performance
We conducted 10 test calls — 5 indoors, 5 outdoors. Every call connected in approximately 16 seconds on average. Agents were professional and verified our account information at the end of each call.
For outdoor calls, we asked agents to confirm our location. Every time, they provided our precise address or nearby cross streets. In an actual emergency away from home, this precision would be invaluable for dispatching help.
The built-in speaker was loud and clear indoors. In outdoor windy conditions, it was still audible.
Fall Detection
In 10 simulated falls, the SOS All-In-One 2 detected 6 of them (3 fast falls and 3 slow falls). While fall detection worked well, it wasn’t perfect — no fall detection system is. If you prioritize high fall detection accuracy, look into the Medical Guardian MGMini Lite or Bay Alarm Medical SOS Micro for comparison.
Unlike ADT’s mobile system, the SOS All-In-One 2 has fall detection built directly into the device — no separate pendant required.
Multiple Help Button Options
The SOS All-In-One 2 ships with an external help button that pairs with the main unit. This button can be worn as a wristband or pendant and reaches the main device from up to 600 feet away. It’s useful when the main unit is charging in another room.
The main downside is complexity. Two separate devices to manage and wear may be overwhelming for some users, and the small speaker on the main unit makes long-distance communication challenging. We also note that many seniors avoid medical alerts because of appearance — adding a second button compounds this concern.
Caregiver App
The free Bay Alarm Medical app allows loved ones to track the device’s live location, check battery status, and ring the device remotely. Emergency alerts are supposed to notify caregivers when the button is pressed.
In practice, these notifications were inconsistent. Some test calls triggered notifications; others did not. The core features — location tracking and battery monitoring — worked reliably. Bay Alarm Medical has indicated this is an area under active improvement.
Pricing
The SOS All-In-One 2 costs $149 upfront (equipment) and $34.95 per month for monitoring. Fall detection adds $10 per month; the caregiver app is free.
These prices are slightly above average. For comparison, the Lively Mobile2 costs $79.99 upfront and $24.99 per month. The Iris Ally from Consumer Cellular runs $89 upfront and $25 per month — and includes fall detection.
That said, Bay Alarm Medical requires no long-term contracts, so if the device isn’t a good fit, you can cancel at any time.
Final Thoughts
The SOS All-In-One 2 delivered reliably fast response times and accurate GPS in our testing. For most users, it will function well. That said, with its $34.95 monthly price ($44.95 with fall detection) and a design that’s less discreet than competitors, we think most users would be better served by the SOS Micro — which is smaller, more affordable, and performs similarly.
If you’ve already chosen Bay Alarm Medical and need a mobile device, the SOS All-In-One 2 is a solid choice. But if you’re still comparing options, the SOS Micro or SOS Smartwatch may be a better fit depending on your preferences.
